Why do you come to church?  Be honest with yourself and me.  Why do you come on Wednesday or Sunday?

See the Light Shine!

April 7th, 2008

Did you ever wonder what Jesus was talking about when He said “No one, when he has lit a lamp covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.” (Luke 8:16)?  If you watch this video you will see the light shining!  Who is the light of the world?  Are you letting your light shine?

Thank God You’re An “American Christian”?

Hey people, let’s stop talking about being the people of God, and start BEING THE PEOPLE OF GOD!  Can I get a witness?

Salvation

February 15th, 2008

Every now and then I will post a question that I want you all to give me your honest thoughts on.

What is Salvation?

I don’t want church answers and you can not use the word SIN in your answer.

We Got Rocked In The City

February 14th, 2008

Well I must say that Rock the City was great. Building 429 is a great band with solid lyrics. Will Graham’s message was solid. If you were listening you heard him explain why we need a Savior, and then presented a clear and easy Gospel presentation that any one could have understood. Then some band… I think…um… Hawk Nelson came on and “rocked the city” not to mention rocking Cody Mitchel’s socks off. And by the way did anyone see Connor Mitchel dancing down on the floor. All and all it was a great night we had 3 people make decisions. Let me know what YOU thought of the night. I was impressed with Jason Dunn and the testimony he gave at the end

How Long Shall We Mourn?

January 24th, 2008

Well some of you guys and gals were here when Chad left.  Now Kyle has been called away as well.  How do we get through?  What would you suggest we do, as a group, to continue to bring glory and honor to the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?  How long shall we mourn?

Why Watch TV on Sunday Afternoon, Are You That Bored?

January 22nd, 2008

brittany-dt.JPG

On Sunday afternoons at 5:45 pm, we are currently going through a book titled Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby and Claude King.  The goal of our study is to know God’s will for our lives and then to go and do it.  If you’re not sure what God’s will is, come by and spend some time with us.  No one will handcuff you to a chair and make you stay if you don’t want to.  Maybe a table, but not a chair.

Why “thealley412″?

January 15th, 2008

I am so proud to be involved with some of the most amazing students at Valley Grove Baptist Church.  Allow me to explain “thealley412″.  In the past few weeks, God has laid on my heart this Bible verse; “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”  1 Timothy 4:12.  When I think of this verse, I see you guys and girls.  If you haven’t realized it yet, it is time to stand up and be the people of God!  I pray that the people in the Seymour/Knoxville area will wonder “what is going on over there with those kids?”.  Let’s show them!
